Last time I visited Musti a village , Gandhi Idol prominent in the play ground of the
primary school. The Idol did not resemble so much as to other polished idols one is
used to see in the cities , media etc. Thought it was made by a local artist who would
have applied his thought as to how gandhi would look . ( He would have used an old calender or an old book or even one of the text books the kids would have been using in the school ). On a reflection to it after nearly 4 years i feel the artist would have applied his thought and stretched his memory cells to remember how the father of the nation would have looked when he had arrived at Musti some time during the pre-independence day.

A News article mentions about Gandhi's visit. This time Kalyani group is starting a forgeing unit to make pipes , pumps and other forged material for local consumption!. Yes there is going to be a NTPC owned brand new super power thermal station near Hotgi on the other side of the railway track in the southern direction. Both units will be operational in about 3 to 4 years to their full capacity.

This promises jobs and commerce to local folks and power to rest of India.

I am happy that finally we are opening our minds to going the gandhi's way, produce locally,
consume locally , grow globally !
